Reflection When first introduced to The Glass Castle I wasn't too sure what to expect. The book ended up being intriguing and I ended up enjoying it. Our main focus most of the semester was to analyze text and tone and also the concept of the American Dream; we tied parts of the book to the American Dream and how the Walls were an example of people trying to achieve their dreams. Also, we spoke about transcendentalism and how Mary and Rex showed signs of being transcendentalists. During the seminar we all were assertive and took turns speaking; when someone disagreed they would do it in a proper manner instead of getting aggressive and arguing. We built upon each other's ideas and collaborated well. Overall the whole experience taught me multiple skills that I'll embrace and use as much as I can.
